Location: Green Bay, WI | I heard it took 30lbs to win.
That's an incredible weight for 5 fish from Bago.
Does anyone remember heavier tournament weights?
The weights were good last year and they seem to be continuing into this year.
It seems we are in a cycle where there is a large population of big fish. |

| 28.04lbs, I believe was the exact number. There were two 23lb weights, a 22, and a 21 if I remember right. I think it took 17lbs to cash. I'm sure they'll have a brief write-up soon. By the way, it took me about 2 hours for myself to believe that we just weighed in 28lbs with five fish. They actually weighed it twice to make sure the scale wasn't off. I'll give you the run down of what it took to get 28lbs. 26.5", 26", 26", 23.5", 21.25". Our bigest weighed 7.25lbs. the other two 26 inchers were pretty much cook cutters of that fish. Took a couple of us to figure out which of the three was the biggest. That's about all I can share for now. Got the MWC this coming weekend. Good luck to all that are in it. |

The best basket I ever remember that was turned in happened in a PWT event out of Fond du Lac. Greg Horoky from Ontario weighed in at 35#'s. I believe that was 1994 or 95. But Maybe it was 1993.
THE REASON:
Does anyone besides Dale remember what the pattern was and THE REASON? |

| Stick baits trolled in the top couple feet I believe. Also, near where whitebass were boiling on schools of trout perch.
OK, what do I win, Stacker. Stopped by to say Hi a week or two ago. You were off. Again. Sheesh.

name the bait and expand on the why. Trout perch live on the bottom. The reason. What he said anyhow.

| OK, not trout perch. Must have been shad then, but he did key in on the whitebass feeding frenzy, and was catching eyes that were picking off the injured baitfish. All I know was the water was dirty then, and he fished as high as I had ever heard. First I ever heard of planer boards, too. Had them way out wide. Don't remember the stick bait, but may have been yellow. Maybe Rogues? He clobbered the field by 20+ lbs. My remembery isn't as good as it used to be. Not as bad as it used to be, at times, either!
I had my 92 Tuffy Rampage back then, and took me a few years to figure out that planer board deal. Yellow birds first, then orange Roach boards. First line counters were South Bend, about $20 ea! Diawa fiberglass rods. Made my own rod holder brackets to clamp on the cap of the boat. Ah, the good old days.

Location: Berlin | I talked to many guys about that weight and I remember 7 fish as well. Chad and Kenny brought in 32 with 6 fish in the merc and Gray and Jimmy had 29 and 27lbs with 6.
I would not want to be fishing a winner take all event against these guys, Mike and Mark are plain gettin it done. I have had few days ever even with fun fishing where I pulled that kind of weight. Every time I did though it was always in the same place. I can't believe these weights, glad I am out. I could never compete. Congrats to all, must have been a fun day |

Mann's Loudmout jerk baits. There BB's rattle so loud you can hear them from 50 ft away.
walleyes keying on shad that were cripped up by the mighty whitey.
He learned from guiding on ERIE when it was dirty back in 1980.
I did not check on the 6 fish limit.
By the way, this is in no way taking away from Mark and Mikes great basket.
