
Location: Rhinelander | Jim Hughes and Matt Jacobson took it wire to wire for the win with 40-06 fishing the river pulling Berkley Flicker Shads and Rapala Shad Raps. Jim explained on stage the stayed on the fish a ground it out, losing about 35 crankbaits to snags in the process. It wasn't worth the time to go back and try to get the lure off the snag, so they broke off, retied, and kept moving. The winning check, said Jim Hughes onstage, was probablt enough so he could go buy some new Rapalas and Flicker Shads at $15,100.00 plus contingencies.
Robl and Golliher took second wirh 35-05. Third was Ball and Noble with 33-02, fourth was Wells and Nowak, and Preissner and Olson rounded out the top five. MWC Leaderboard The bite was off again today as winds muddied water that held fish yesterday, making it tough for many teams to weigh a decent basket. Some fish were caught in the weeds, but most of the bigger fish were reported to have come from the river.
