Hey guys, I caught a Walleye this summer that I plan to get mounted. It was my longest fish(31") and a rare one for the Canadian lake I was on, so I decided to keep it for a mount to remember my experience and my bro, who used to fish the area with me.

I was wondering who you'd recomend for Walleye skin mounts that wouldn't be a stretch to drive to from central WI. The guy that does my Muskies is pretty well booked. This will be my only Walleye mount, so I'd like it to be a showpiece for my home. The best taxidermist in general that I've seen for fish is Mike Orthobr, north of Sturgeon Bay. He did a trout for me, but I'm not sure if he is still around or does warm water species.

The fish has been frozen properly since mid August, so I'd best get it in soon.

I wasn't able to reach my first choice(Mike Orthober), and did not get to my pm's in time to see the message from schrdr re: 10lb eye and the very nice message from Ron Levin. For him to say that about Mike, really means something. I agree, Mike is the best round. However, looking at Ron's work, one can see he is a great artist as well, and has a nice catolog of work.

I ended up calling Marc Charles/Second Nature Taxidermy out of Green Bay, WI., based on one photograph(link below). After talking with him, and getting my deer in the freezer, I took the drive over. While he didn't have a ton of his work on display, what he did have, was beautiful. This is by no means an ad, but his Perch and Walleyes were what really brought me in. While there, I viewed a couple of his Musky reproductions and they were awesome! I have always thought the tail sections seemed overly large on some replicas(including my own), and have accepted that the fins commonly a bit 'thick' too. Viewing his work on Thursday actually surprised me, as his Muskies had the most realistic sizing, and fins that I've seen at least in person. He even incorporated the split tail on one particular canadian fish that was in his shop ready to be picked up. He had one great lakes Musky there, to go along with one that I saw on his site. Very difficult to notice from a distance that it was not a skin mount.

Thanks again for any and all suggestions.
