| Hey guys, i'm buying a 07 crestliner fish hawk 1750 side console with a 90 HP optimax. i want to also buy a kicker motor for the boat but am not sure if the added weight in the back will have any adverse effects. i do alot of trolling with cranks and don't want to rack up hours on the main motor, plus kickers are a good backup if the main fails for whatever reason. Does anybody have a similar setup? any problems with too much weight in the back? or getting on plane? |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | That boat should be rated for well over a 90, so a 9.9 or 8hp kicker should be no problem. I've seen several 1750s with kickers.
Especially with an opti, I'd suggest the kicker. |

| Ya the more i thought about it the weight shouldn't be an issue. now i am just wondering if a 90 hp is enough power to get it on plane with the added weight. thoughts? |

| 90hp will get you on plane with a kicker no problem. Had a 17ft Lund Impact, 90hp merc 4stroke and a 9.9 ProKicker. No issues whatsoever! |
