| I am primarily a musky troller but do spend a fair amount of time on Winnebago trolling for walleye. Are there any down sides to use my line counters strung with 80lb power pro. It has the diameter equivalent of 12 lb mono. I don't want to switch lines back and forth. Just bought 6 Okuma dead eye rods and hoped to just switch reels back and forth. |

But, I think it would work as long as you use a long mono or flourocarbon leader. 6-10' leader should do it. If you plan on using the trolling bible you'll have to assume a couple of feet less in diving depth for length out. I used to use 20 pound spider years ago with good success. I don't think current super lines are much different in dia.</p><p>Also think many Lake Erie captains use simulair setups when trolling. </p>

Location: McFarland, WI | Sunshine is right. This is a little like trolling with leadcore without the lead. We tend to use 30-50 ft leaders with leadcore depending on water clarity. |
