| The bite looks to be shaping up pretty good around this part of the Wisconsin River.
Funny how a little warmer weather can change the attitude of the fish.
Looking like it's going to be yet another good year on Lake Wisconsin.

Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | I never caught one, but those look to be some dandy Sauger. Is there a slot limit on this lake? Looks like some of the bigger fish didn't make the game pole. But those smaller ones are the fillet mignon I love to keep and eat as well.

| Yes there is a slot limit on Lake Wisconsin. It's a huge reason why we have such good fishing here for walleyes & saugers of all sizes.
Fish shorter than 15" have to be released.
You can keep 5 fish a day between 15-20" long.
20-28" long fish must be released.
You may keep 1 fish per day 28" long or greater.
The regs for saugers are exactly the same and you can only keep 5 fish total.
It doesn't matter how many are saugers or walleyes but if you catch & keep a trophy, it must be counted as one of you 5 for the day.
The one weird thing about these regs is that there is no provision for keeping a trophy sauger. No ones ever caught one over 28" long but many have been caught up to 23" long with a few reaching 24" or bigger.
A few more pics from Memorial Day weekend.

| Robert,
It's been great!
Really, really love this boat so far.
Still, need to get her on some bigger water to really give her a good test though.
If your still interested in taking a ride some day, just let me know when you might be available. Weekends are not a good time for me. | |
