Location: Manitowoc, WI | Since we talked color, I figured which crank would be next.
Last year not included, I've caught more fish on the old DJ-139, metallic rainbow trout than any other. Next best would be DJ-133 blue scale/red lip, and then DJ-103 chrome w/black back.
I have also done well with Deep Little Rippers in Monkey Puke, Chrome and Blue, Mud Minnow, and Firetiger. Next would be Shad Raps in Blue, Pearl, and Clown. I've fished Wally Divers over and over again and have yet to land a walleye on one. Maybe I should have tried them more last summer? |

My best crankbait for trolling Winnebago was those Durst-Painted Cisco Kids. Got some blurry pictures of them hanging in the toothy jaws of nice walleyes, seen in my photo album connected by clicking on the link below.
And I have witnesses! |

| Its hard to beat the #5 Shad Raps and Rip Shads, My personal fav. Is combinations of green and red, Purple always works especially with 5" baits when you have to go deep along with blue and silver. Match whatever color the feed is at the time, I always run a black and white or silver on at least one rod!
Good Luck Jerry and be sure to let us know what works for YOU out there!!!!

| I'm going to agree with Risor on his call for the 2003 season...Wally Divers were the ticket for me too.
color made a difference too. All depends on the weather! |

| Until last year it had been all DJ,s in Rainbow trout and HotnTots in Rainbow trout...along with Wally Divers in Gold w/Black back and silver w/black back...last year was a great year for Wally Divers...Hand painted or doctored to look different, worked the best when working the large pressured schools in the Mud, always Shad Raps on the rocks.... |

| I've tried most of the newer baits with some good success put by far the best trolling bait in shallow water of less than 10 feet is still the number 7 countdown repalas in black and silver, blue and white and black and gold. This also includes casting shorelines as well. |

Location: Oshkosh,Wi | Its hard to believe that somebody trolling the Bago never had any luck with the Wally Diver!! That was a real good one, day in day out! I always had to put one out. Nobody mentioned the "Clown" W Diver..that one produced the best for me last year. This year out ice fishing the Clown Rap was a pretty good producer too. Dont know why the Clown color combo would work as well as it does. But Walter gives it 2 fins up..good enough for me!! Love the Thunder Sticks..and Raps are a MUST HAVE! Shad Raps and Rattle traps will put some meat in the grease too. |

| I do not fish it as much as most of you, but my collection of crankbaits is pretty respectable and yet it seems I always catch my fish on either a Wally diver or Hot n Tot. The Blue/silver, red lip, Hot n Tot is always out on the far board, about 2-4' down- last year, purple glitter Wally Diver was very good down deeper, but usually silver/black, gold/black or perch. Have got some on shap raps and the deep thundersticks as well but hard to take the Wally Divers off. |

| I,too,do very well with Wally Divers but only on the reefs.Color preference changes from day to day with chrome combos on bright days and golds on dark.Kryptonite, monkey puke, purple firetiger work well for me on dark days.I always drag a perch color.I prefer natural over metalic. But over the mud,I'm hard pressed to catch fish on Wally Divers! Whites and sheepies, but no'eyes!I'm using cd5s(the little ones).Do you guys go to cd7s over the mud?Mud fishing my best baits are firetiger,red/gold and blue/chrome red lipped DJs and spotted frog DLRs. |
