| I just got a call from a friend and was told that if I want to come up ice fishing this weekend, I better bring the extension for my auger. Some places are getting so thick I might need it. I hate having to stand on the tail gate in order to punch a hole!
How much ice are you guys finding around your neck of the woods? |

Jack.
You know our story here on the Saginaw Bay. If it wasn't for the huge amount of snow on top the ice, we'd have 20+ inches or more by now. As it is, we have 8 to 12 inches depending on exactly where you drill the holes. The other day I had 8 and my bud 20 yards away had 12.

Location: Omro,Wi. | Bago goes from 18 to 23 inches, some spots in the shove ice you can't get thru.Seeing as how I'll be spearing for awhile(hopefully) the eyes are 6-feet off bottom, and a silver sweedish pimple,or a blk/gold rapala, both tipped with minnow head is best.Just wait for them to come thru the area....hafe |

Location: Rhinelander | Keith tells me there is 2 feet on most lakes now here. If we didn't have the blanket of snow we have, there would be enough to be tough to get through. |

Are the 'eyes relating to structure or are you fishing the basin? |
