Location: Fond du Lac | Someone asked how they came up with this name,I asked Ed today at the shop and he said the original spot was down by the rootbeer hut,it was called TEW's,T for Tom,E for Ed,and W for Wayne,when the shop opened where it is now they decided it was the second location so they went with TEW's TWO.If you get in the shop ask him for any more info on this,he seemed very happy to talk about it but I didn't have enough time.I will in the future try to find out who Tom and Wayne are.Ed is talking about building a new shop in back of the one already there,I for one will continue to shop at Tew's,great prices and honest info.If any of you get by there let Ed know your opinion if you support a new building and that you will keep going there in the future.

| ah, memories of my childhood. Used to stop at that rootbeer hut way back when, on the way home to Fond du Lac from Gramps and Gramma's house in O'burg. I can still recall the musty smell of that 53 Pontiac, and later, the cool mirrored dash and the Wonder Bar radio in the 60 Electra. Most of all, I remember the rich and foamy taste of that root beer. | |
