I had an old ring from my grandfather I thought was a garnet, and was shocked not long ago to find it was a near perfect ruby. Family heirloom, so I won't sell it, but cool, just the same! Their is a process that needs to take place for authentication, appraisal, etc. So I forgot what we were talking about.
