The ice hasn't been off long, we should have hit it about right. We will see. | |

Location: Rhinelander | We spent a day in the Fin-Hunters channel/small water boat Friday and boated walleyes and pike. It was a crazy trip for us; even knowing the flooded nature of this system pulling up to a bridge that used to be over a small crick and now is barely out of the water on top and catching fish right along side was cool. Walleyes up to 25 with the females released, and pike up to 36" was the tally for the day fishing dozens of small spots. What a blast!
Yesterday the bottom fell out of the weather with winds to 30mph and snow, so Keith and I took off for a milk run of shore fishing spots Cody showed us over the early part of the trip. We caught a ton of pike and several walleyes up to 26 pitching the current seams all over the channels.
Today was a total bust with the temps at 27 and snow/wind making things just not worth it, so we traveled around some and marked several current areas and small waters for the next trip over.
If you want to have a great trip in NE North Dakota and the Devils Lake area, give Cody a call.
