The WFT banquet (Fox Valley Chapter) was held last night at the Darboy Club and was another big success! Over 450 in attendance which goes to show how much the local people work to support this wonderfull fishery. Kendal Kampke (DNR fisheries Biologist)was there to draw many of the door prizes and enlighten the crowd on what is happening with the Winnebago system along with upto date info on Sturgeon. He was very informative and the presentation was thourough. We have some AWESOME fishing to look forward to in the coming years as last years hatch was the 3rd highest recorded since the studies began in the mid 80's. Those 11-13" that everyone was catching last year will be close to 15" and should make for some excellent table fare or just a ball to catch this year! Thanks Kendal and everyone at WFT for your hard work and dedication. There were 200 door prizes and many raffles during the night. I know my new Beckman will get lots of use! Thanks again for all your hard work!
Good Luck

The way Kendall Kamke and his office works and interacts with the resource, it's users, the community, and groups like WFT should serve as a model for other agencies. It's impressive.

If you ever get a chance to talk to the WFT people you'll learn a lot. We had Andy and Wimpy from the Oshkosh chapter speak at our Paynes Point meeting on Monday night. They explained how their portable hatchery works for their Sauger program. This group puts a lot of time and effort into their programs and deserve our support. They also told us about their work on habitat restoration for the spawning marshes. GREAT JOB!!!!!

Before they left we gave them a check. If your club can afford it, I urge you to do the same. They are putting in more reefs this winter and it's pretty costly. Thanks.
