| I like using the hight vis line at dusk and after dark casting jigs. The fish don't seem to mind. What has been your experiance with the high vis stuff? I use 4# most of the spring. |

Location: Fergus Falls, MN | I have not found line color to be a factor, to the fish, while fishing. I use Falme Green Fireline for the most part. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | For most jigging applications, I use Trilene XT Solar in 4, 6 or 8 lb test. It is a hi-vis line, as I like it for seeing the line twitch from a strike and I also like it as I can better visualize my jig and the angle it's at as I retrieve it. When I fish in rock/snag filled locations, I go to Firelline in flame green. Same reasons. |

If your situation requires you to finesse your presentation, the less line visibility the better. As you know, fish can get extremely finicky at times and your line can definitely be a huge factor. In the same breath there are times when it seems you could catch fish with shoe string. It pays to have options out there. I use Berkley's Iron Silk (various diameters) and Smoke Fireline.-seerad |

| I use Stren HI-Vis almost daily April-Oct. . Lot's of friends around me use Solar. The only place I've needed to go below 6# is on the super clear Madison lakes.
As soon as we downsized to 4# the fish started buying again. Ofcourse the reason we use the line is so we can see the small changes in the line. You very often see the change in the line before you feel the bite.

Location: Cupar, Saskatchewan, Canada | I dont think the fish see the line because I use the blue ice fishing line so you can use just about anything I've found. Also my hit and catch percentage hasnt gone done since changing lines. So blue or not it isnt making a difference icefishing for me now in the summer I dont now I havnt had any problems with fireline in the green color. However, the lake I fish in the summer turns completely green so the line is almost comoflaged. I can still see it pretty well though so if I can see it I assume the fish can but they must not care because they still bite a crankbait. |
