Location: Rhinelander | Mark Courts holds a slim lead over John Hoyer on the Mississippi after day one of the third leg of the 2017 NWT. The bite was much better than had been reported, with nearly half the field bringing limits to the stage.
Courts weighed 20.66, Hoyer 20.52, Schmerbac 19.86, Blosser 17.79, and Kavajecz rounded out the top 5 with 16.62. Check range was lower teens after all the pros weighed in.
The weather looks stable for tomorrow with an added chance for an afternoon T storm. Most of the pros said the water was clearing up a bit, and if that continues, the bite should be better tomorrow.
