A full field of 50 teams and 50 spotters left the beach in front of Beach Bums on Ottertail this morning at 7AM for the tenth annual Lund Maina Fishing Tournament. At stake are prizes worth over $50,000 for the top ten and random cash prizes of $500 selected for places out of the top ten. First place prize of a new Lund 1675 Impact rigged and water ready worth over $26000 will be taken home by the winning team.
The bite has been fair since a cold front went through a couple days back, with fish pretty much on every structural element on the lake, so techniques range from weed line to deep breaks and more.
Word is that it will take over 20 pounds to win. The awards ceremony begins with activities around the stage in down-town New York Mills, MN at about 4 PM, watch the Lund Facebook page and this thread for updates!
