Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | Had some fun today getting the chance to run away from the crowds that swarmed The Dells. Heard from my buddies that Perch were active and they almost got their limits so it did not take long for me to get convinced and run to the baitshop for some extra crappie minnows. Got there a bit late - as usual Scott and Dana said: "You should have been here 2hrs ago! We were just nailing them..." And I could tell by their buckets they were... They had to leave and it was almost 30mins after I got there when I got my first 10" Perch:
The funny part is no matter how aggressive these rascals usually are - today I did not feel or see a bite. They were just hanging on to the minnow and not giving out their presence - I would twitch the line to make it more attractive and feel the weight already there... The only bites I did see were this baby Crappie:
and an 8" Perch - both dipped the whole antenna and I let both of them go. All in all kept 5 fish 9.5-11" for a dietary meal - hope to find them better next time.
About 1830 called it quits and headed for The Dells Dam(had previous arrangements with Jamie out of Reedsburg for a Walleye outing, but it failed). I planned to try crankbaits reeling ultra-slow this time(did not lose any! be proud of me LOL).
Started off with a #10 Husky Jerk:
and let 2 bobbers sit for Crappies or, as it turned out for all the Walleyes I got for the evening.
Crappie minnows 4ft down on rocker or #8 long shank plain hook both took fish.
I kept changing setups on my spinning setup:
Nothing triggered them and the other 3 anglers along the shore and the 2 in a boat in the mouth of the culvert did not seem to be getting any action.
I kept running for my disappearing bobbers:
All the Eyes I caught were 13-14" :)) Makes me wish that was the Princeton dam and not the Dells... then a few fillets would have graced my dinner table... Do not forget March 8th is The International Day of the Woman! Make the ladies feel special tonight!

You know I am waiting for you to come up. Don't make me run away from work to tag you along on the way back all the way from Milwaukee

Also working on baits like crazy right now and need more time to get them done for the guys.
You will really like some of the new ones I am doing.
Going to try and bring the boat next when we come, was hoping for tommarrow,
but it is not looking good. |

And great this morning on Yellow Perch. Wind was awful but it was all worth it! |
