What's the best Battery and where can I get them? How many do you recommend? Starting amps?
LARGE Bow mount 74v
2 fish locators
Marine Radio
GPS
2 Bilge Pumps
1 Livewell pump
Occassional electric down riggers
3 Bank charging system
AM/FM Radio

If you troll alot or drift ALOT (4hrs at a time) with a kicker, what would you hook to the starting battery and how big should it be? ie bilge, locator? marine radio?
Good Luck

I buy batteries from Remy battery in Milwaukee. 2 locations. I've heard Trojans are the best, but are expensive and weigh a ton.

My Opti calls for a starting battery with 1000 MCA, or , I think 800 CCA. This battery is a Northern and provided by my dealer with the boat. It runs everything but my bowmount. I've not had a problem. I have a 65# bowmount, and can get 2 days of hard use easy, out of my Remy batteries. My last set of TM batteries lasted 5 years.

My kicker has a rectifier on it, which charges the main batteries when I troll. I run 2 depth finders, livewell, radio,VFH radio, baitwell pump.
I've used IronSides for the last 4yrs. Never had to worry about dead batteries.

I'll second the vote for Trojan. I've run them for three years and they're like new. In fact, I have one that is two years old that's had minimal use that is available for a good price, if anyone's interested.

Stowaway 850 dual purpose. I get mine at Sam's club, $59 I think. Lots of reserve capacity(more then the equivalent trojan), lots of power. The Spiral cell batteries are also nice(Optima and Orbital) but are a little lacking on reserve capacity. So far I have not noticed any problems with my orbital and thats running it all day. I think optima's have more reserve then the orbital, 130 reserve I think. If you go with the trojan here is a link to check out: http://www.batteryservice.com/

Ok I just picked up a 650cca starting battery, will this be enough? Now how big are your deep cycles?
Good Luck

I have used Crown batteries for years and have had great luck with them. Nothing fancy, just well built batteries that last. Check out their website. www.crownbattery.com
