I'll consider it an honor to answer your very first post on Walleyes First. You've already impressed me by signing your own name. Don't know about your other experiences on other boards but suspect you'll like this one a lot. No nonsense, well not much anyway. No one trying to cut your throat, belittle or challenge your fishing skills and integrity because you caught a few fish and want to brag a little. So far good solid fihermen who posses a lot of knowledge in a lot of areas. So fall in behind me, I just took a good one right there.

Location: Timmins, Ontraio, Canada | Timmins is about 7 hours north of Toronto. We have a lot of lake but thousands of them are small. There are some big lakes but they are not gigantic. Most of the walleye tournaments here are on lakes that are 20 miles long or smaller. There is no tournaments on the big lakes here yet but there will be in the next couple of years. |

| Welcome aboard Matt. Glad you found us. You'll enjoy visiting here. Many good people and a lot of knowledge to be had.
On these smaller than 20 mile lakes you mentioned, what sizes do the walleyes grow to, and what are your seasons and limits? I guess I'm asking you to fill us in on what your walleye world is like up there. Thanks. |

Location: Timmins, Ontraio, Canada | JLDII the walleye season in northern Ontario is from the thrid weekend in may to april 15. There are a lot of fly-in lakes here with some big eyes. Some big eyes are caught in the summer here on the bigger lakes but average size is 2-5 pounds. Are limit is 4 walleyes a day and every lake in the area has a slot size, you can't keep between 16" to 22" and you are only allowed 1 over 22" a day. Are walleye tournaments here don't have that big of wieghts you could win a two day tournament with 20-25 pounds (if there wasn't a slot size the wieghts would be much greater). |
