4.7 is the v8 right? If so then it should work. Just make sure you have the tranny cooler and a oil cooler wouldn't hurt either(but may not be necessary, the Tranny cooler is VERY necessary). I'm guessing your boat is around 2000 or more pounds right? Does it have Trailer brakes? Why? Well if your Tundra has Antilock brakes(ABS) you may need trailer brakes. Definitely check your trucks owners manual on that one as I found that one out the hard way with my jeep. Jeep is supposedly rated for around 6500 or so pounds so the dealer technically didn't lie...just left out the part about if the trailer is over 1500lbs you need trailer brakes because ALL ABS cannot handle towing properly(mine weighs 2000)... Tundra is a Full Size pickup, my Cherokee is not big even by SUV standards..lol.. so the Tundra maximum before needing trailer brakes should be higher I think.. I do know that your Tundra is rated to tow between like 5000 and 7000 lbs... I think depending on rearend gearing..

Just an fyi; You should also be aware that there is a trailer weight requirement for having trailer brakes. It's 3000 pounds in wisconsin, or if the trailer weighs more than the tow vehicle.

Didn't know that one, do you know if it is a requirement in WI even if your a out of stater like myself? Or does that only apply if you have it licensed in WI. Probably should have them either way at 3000lbs..

I have an '02 Tundra that pulls a Ranger 617. No problems whatsoever.

I know of a 620 Ranger pulled by a Tundra. Has done it for years with no troubles. Personally, I like my F-150. hehehe

I'm not sure what the rule is for non-residents. I just found the info on the wisconsin department of transportation web site. The only reason I know is that we need to have brakes on the camper.
