I figured I'd hit this one head on before all the rumors started flying around. I decided to forego this season on the PWT for several reasons. The biggest reason by far was financial. As most of you know I took a serious hit in the pocketbook this winter and it really screwed up my fishing budget, and by the looks of things I probably won't recoup my $22,000 it took to replace my hull. or the $5,000 I lost in sponsorship money or the $1,600 deposit I lost for giving up my spot. It was a very traumatic decision and it took all I had to admit it was the right thing to do. Between the money and the toll the situation was taking on my personal life it was simply too much. The powers that be at the PWT were very understanding of the situation and assured me that my decision will not affect my ability to qualify next year.

My relationship with Dale had NOTHING to do with my decision. I wish Dale all the luck in the world this year and in the future. For those of you who so kindly offered to help me out in Winnebago; Thank You very much for the offer, I'm very sorry I will miss fishing with you.. I have every intention of returning to the PWT next year.

As for this year I will be fishing some small circuits here in Michigan and working hard at my business to make up for the huge mistake I made. Thanks in advance for understanding and for quelling any rumors that might get started out there.

Rob,
First of all, I'm sorry to hear you had to drop out. Good luck this season....
Second of all...I just wanted to know what division you were going to fish, or were you signed up for all 6?

Rob,

I'm not familiar with your story and I hate to make you re-live what must be a terrible experience, but what happened to your boat? I don't mean to be insensitive, but it sounds like there might be a lesson here for a lot of us to learn by.

I applied to fish the PWT this year and didn't make the cut, which has been a source of great disappointment for me, and have a lot of sympathy for someone going through the feelings of missing out on a PWT season. Good luck in the future. They're just bumps in the road...

Juls,
I was going to fish the eastern Division, thanks for your kind words.

Gatz,
I'm really not at liberty to discuss the details (court cases and such) but someday I'll write a book about it! Thanks Again, hope you can make it in my sppot and tear em up!

Hi Rob:
You've got great spirit and you're one of the good guys. Keep that optimistic outlook and things will be cool. Good luck this year in the other tourneys.

Sorry to hear Rob, but do sympathize as your situation somewhat mirrors mine. I hope you can get your business back to the level your used to and good luck on the tournies in Michigan.
