Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Ran the entire length of the Tittabawassee River today. Yup, started at the convergence on the Saginaw and ran all the way to Dow Spillway. For those of you who don't know, thats a long/dangerous endevor. Have not done that in about 8 to 9 years, and my butt cheeks are still pinched together pretty tight. Kinda like the other night, but different.
Of course my Jet Boat is the only reason I can even attempt to do such a thing. And no, I didn't do it to show off or for kicks and giggles. In fact I didn't even have a rod or reel in the boat.
Hooked up with a company thats being sub-contracted through Dow Corning to document and take pictures of every house (Front and Back) that it's property runs to the rivers edge from the Caldwell ramp down to the Saginaw. Started below the Caldwell ramp and finished doing about 40% of the houses just below Immerman Park. I'll bet I seen 150 walleyes in all that way in the river. We were jumping them like Plantation Quail in just about every hole and brush pile all day long. Most were the smaller 2 to 4 pound males that stick around well after the big females turn tail and beat it back to the Bay.
I think I did more to distract the work at hand with my "Wow, look at those walleyes taking off" and "Look at all those tucked in next to that log" The down side I'm thinking though is that the Tittabawassee is very clear and fairly low already. And with two more weeks before the in-land season re-opens, there might not be all that many left in the system.
