Location: Appleton WI | I am looking for a new reel and I narrowed it down to 2 companies. I was looking at either the Shimano Symetre or Sedona compared to the Quantum Kinetic or Catalyst. Which company do you recommend? |

| I have used only Quantum, so all i can say is...i think all of their models are tops/ Best to talk with a person working the sporting goods counter, like those at Gander Mountain, or Scheels. |

Location: Neenah, WI | We've got half a dozen Shimano Sahara's in both the 1000 and 2000. Very smooth reels and no problems in 2 years. |

Location: Fergus Falls, MN | I haven't fished with a Quantam that I liked more than a Shimano. When comparing reels in the same price category. |

Location: Sth/side Chicago | I really like the Shimano spinning reels, but then, to dislike a Quantam legitimately I would have to try one or own one first..lol |

| I "work the counter" at Galyans, and can tell you that I've never been a big Quantum fan, until I got my hands on the Kinetic. Everyone I've let play with it agrees that it feels better than the Symetre, and so far this spring they are outselling the Shimano 4 or 5 to1.
I bought one the other day and will be trying it out in the next few weeks.
