Good job to all the boaters and co-anglers this weekend at the RCL League Opener at the Pete!
Sometimes there are obstacles that present themselves at the most inopportune time. Well that time was Friday morning at 8:30 am for myself. The lower unit on the 2025 Lund decided to grenade :-(. Not sure why at this point but that did not matter. So 50 minutes of kicker propulsion, I arrived at the launch.
I called a 4 Marina's in the area with the help of a local fisherman whom I can no longer remeber his name, but Thank you for your help and knowledge of local marina's! All of the marina's did not have the parts to help correct this issue! So I decided to call Tim Shepard, which I had just met the previous weekend, left him a message as to my predicament. It is now 10:30 am and the nerves are begining to deteriorate as the prospect of getting a lower unit replaced looked very, very slim!
Well just when you need a miracle, Shep calls me back on the cell, I described what happened and what was needed. Tim said hang on and let him make a call. Well 10 minutes later he calls back and informs me that if I want a new lower unit to call Nortons Dry Dock Marine in Princeton, within the next 5 minutes as time was running short to get a replacement. I called Larry at Nortons Dry Dock, he said he would call and see if the parts were available. To make a long story short; Dave, Larry, Arron and crew had the boat in and repaired by 5 pm which allowed enough time to return for the 6 pm deadline for registration!
If you ever need support, Class A support that is, please give Nortons Dry Dock a call. They are in a league of there own and the service, support and concern is top notch! I can assure you that these guys will get my order for a new boat in the future :-).
It is not a daily problem that occurs, but it goes to show you what the fishing community will do for a guy who is down on luck!

Tim Shepard, Dave, Larry, Arron and the rest of the folks that helped in many ways; I just want to take the moment and personnally Thank you all for your help. Without your support and dedication to get my rig back on the water, I would have had to tell my co-angler that we will taking a slow ride to no where!
THANK YOU GUYS!!!!

Fishermen and women have a way of banding together when 1 of us is in need. Good job!!!!!!!!! It's great to hear about happy endings.

Mike,

I had to do something. You wouldn't take any gas money on Sunday! Was nice to meet you, and was glad I could help out. Still waiting for news on Trap's boat. See you in GB next month!
