| A decision was made this morning to call day two of the Lake Erie RCL. The coast guard stepped in and called the tournament due to extremely dangerous high winds (25-35mph). Lake Erie has swallowed large ships in weather like this and a 20ft boat is a raft compared to those ships. The top twenty from day one will move on and fish tomorrow. The top 60 places as they stand right now will cash a check.

This means he made the cut and is guaranteed $$$
Now let's all hope that he can draw someone great for Friday and make the next cut.
I talked with him last night and he was praying for a blow day and he got it. Now, let's hope that the weather settles and he can fish on Friday.
As a side note my mentor and good friend Bill Leonard is right up there on the Pro side in 5th Place. I hope that the two will end up together on Friday. That would be a hoot for me.
I'm glad that the Coast Guard stepped in and made the right decision. It'll be interesting to hear the whole story. No fish or tournament winnings are worth the risk of life. IMHO we still need more common sense practices at take-offs when determining whether the day should be cancelled or not. It's a no win decision for the directors so the value of life should always be the determining decision.
NOW, I wonder what my good friends are doing on a Blow Day? I need to make a call!!!! |
