Got out this past week and hit the wing dams hard, with little to show for it. Tried casting cranks, pitching ringies and jigs, and live bait and cranks on 3-ways. Not a lot of fish, so I moved out to an area of the main channel where I marked a lot of fish, and #5 Shad Raps, Firetiger worked best, on leadcore. Picked up several nice fish, from 16-24" in a couple hours before the lightning started. Fish were in 16-20' of water on the edge of the channel. Should really be picking up on the wings in the next week or so!

Herb, water is muddy, but not as bad as one would expect. Can see a white jig down 4-6". Not choclate milk! The backwaters are dirtier where there are feeders coming in, but crappie fishing has also been picking up in the spawning areas from reports I have heard. I've heard of a lot of 16-17" crappies coming from Savanah area of pool 13!
