The smallies have really put on the feed bag in the last week, we have been putting good numbers of fish in the boat with an assortment of rubber but also with flyrods and poppers, this is the bite I have been waiting for and dreaming of last winter. The fish are showing a real preference for heavy current and are actively feeding on young of the year shad and emerald shinners, what a riot. I had an interesting thing happen the other day. I saw a 3 ft bull snake laying on a rock and when I brought my jig past it the thing hammered it, snake on. The thing spit it out after about 5 seconds much to my pleasure, it did'nt look to happy about it's mistake and neither was I. I really did,nt want to deal with a 3 ft ticked off snake. Well anyways good luck to all and please practice catch and release.
