Walleyefinder,

I like the Quantum Acurist PT. Something low profile (comfortable to hold) with a flipping switch, so you can let out line without disengaging the clutch of the reel and having to turn the crank to reingage. A 7'-7'6" med action rod with a longer handle for when you need to tuck it under your arm. I personally don't think you need to spend a bunch on the rod for bouncing (like you might for vertical jigging) A mid-priced rod will do just fine. You didn't ask, but I like 14/6 Fireline for bouncing over mono.

Toolman,
I did some research on the internet and I came up with a Quatum accurist 500 and a bass pro signiture series bottom bouncer rod. And yes, 14 lb Fireline.I haven't talked much to my New Fishing Buddies yet for there opinions. If anyone else has some suggestions it would be helpful. I still need some recomendations for a jigging outfit.
Thanks for the help guys!

Walleyefinder,

I've never used the Bass Pro bouncer rods (the whole series of rods were designed by Keith K and Gary P). The trolling rods are nice, though.
As far as a spinning outfit it depends on what type of jigging (pitching or vertical) and how much $$ you want to spend. I think the St. Croix Avid line are great rods. For vertical jigging the 6'3" medium action/fast tip with a Shimano Stradic 2000 is a pretty good set-up. Cost about $250+/-. For casting/pitching jigs I like a slightly longer rod with a slightly softer tip. It works better for me casting and pitching lighter jigs. Hope this helps.
