I thought that the MWC was cut off at the 41 bridge. I saw a team several miles above that point today. What should I do about that? I'm not fishing the event but it really hurts to see this. Maybe I'll go to the weigh-in tommorrow and ask them what they were thinking.

Being that I fished this tournament also, I would not hesitate contacting the Kristine Hautman at the MWC Headquarters and let her know the boat number if you have that info. Kristine will definitely look more into this matter, even though the tournament is over.

Trap,

Did anything ever come of this? I heard Kristine say on sunday that one boat was reported out of boundaries saturday and after they looked into it, it ended up being a non-tournament boat that still had their numbers on from the first MWC tournament at spring valley.

Hopefully it wasn't someone who left the numebrs on and fished out of boundaries to purposley cause problems.

We had a patrol boat at that bridge 90+% of the time on the water. Our tournament boats were identifiable with an MWC decal on the motor. I did get one report of a boat outside our boundaries with a decal; but the boat type did not match up with our 'bago team with that number. We double checked it. Must have been a team from Spring Valley with the decal still on.

If you see something -- report it. That's why we ID the boats. Otherwise, seeing a nicely rigged Ranger outside the boundaries doesn't cut it. Identify the boat, get the team #, and then let us know.

Can anyone explain why there isn't any "hype" on this site for a 220 boat MWC tournament. What's up? No winners photos on the front? Nothing?

There were several reasons we did not have coverage:

1. We had coverage at the PWT in Arkansas through friday, and saturday (MWC Day 1) was the travel day back to WI.
2. Our annual Winnebago website tournament was on Sunday out of Rainbow Park, so those same people were occupied with that event after driving back from AR on Saturday.
3. Our systems were down saturday through late monday. We had someone in place for live coverage of the MWC event, but the site being down prevented us from executing the coverage.

Kristine, I'm sure if you had some info you would like to share the folks here would be more than happy to get it up on the site, ie. photos, results etc. As you know the tourney trail is very hectic to try and cover everything would by next to impossible. Anything you can offer?
Good Luck

I was supposed to double up that weekend, and enlist the help of another reporter, which I did. Unfortunately, we were down as described, and could not cover the event live. Since we will not 'mine' the data off anyone elses site later, we missed the event. I would say we cover all the events we attend well, with front page photos, captioned photos on the water and on the shore, video, and more. No sponsorships, no banner ads from any of the circuits; just good coverage, free and complete. We will definitely be at the MWC in Saginaw, but will probably miss the New York event unless WF can enlist some help out there.

Christine, we had a tough weekend with the technical problems, sorry we were not up to our normal speed.

Ok, guys. Just wondering. It's a big deal to cash a $28,512 first place check -- and I think the team of Russell/Lampen deserves the credit for besting 219 teams. MWC competition is tough!

The press release was emailed . . .but drop me an note at [email protected] and I'll send a dupe if you don't have it. The press release includes photos.

Sorry to hear you had some technical difficulties.

thanks for covering the MWC.
