Hoping I can get the opinions of fellow walleye men and maybe even some marine guys here. I have a 17' Smokercraft Fazer that I want to put a kicker motor on. It isn't as heavy as the newer boats are and was wondering if you think a 3HP kicker would be big enough to troll with decent control or should I be looking at 6HP or bigger?? Any advice or opinions are appreciated.

Thanks.

If you already have it, try it out. I had a freind of mine who had a 2hp on a 16' Lund and it pushed it ok when it was calm. With any wind, it was not worth a s%$t. If you have not bought it yet, I would go larger.

Just my 2 cents worth. Chris
