Was out fishing Sat evening on the WI River in some of the "holes". After catching 7-8 undersize fish, I began to wonder if I should just move on to a different place to try to find some legals or should I should I stay with the action and some legals may come along. What would you do??

Thanks!

On the Wisconsin.
I have 2 modes of thinking.

1. some times we have to feed the little guys to get to the bigger ones.
Little eyes are more active at most times.

2. the larger fish group together.
If you get a 19 there are other 19's there abouts.

Time of year has a lot to do with it.
Some times it just has to be prime time to get the better fish to feed.
Also are your fishing methods gear towards the larger fish, or just catching some walleyes.

I always look for numbers and fun on the wisconsin river system.

I know the river holds a few bigger fish. I'd like to get better at locating them and learn more about what structure holds the better fish. I don't keep too many off the river.

I fish...
The Petenwell flowage.
Castlerock dam down stream.
The dells dam and down stream to the rapids.
The Rainbow flowage
If these are any of the spots you fish I may be some help.
Know people that fish other areas also.

I was on the River above Mosinee, near Halfmoon. I also fish Petenwell, and Lake Wausau. I only get to Petenwell 4-6 times per year but can't say that I've done real well. Usually get more Crappies than Walleyes if anything. My usual(best) tactic is bottom bouncers with spinner rigs.
