| Snake Trolling 3-ways Mississippi River Pools 4-10, Normal Flow Eqt set ups
Bow Rods with 4oz Pyramid sinker, 7' H action Rod, 10/2 Power pro
Middle Rods 2 1/2 oz. Bell Sinker, 7' MH action rod,10/2 Power pro
Stern Rods Either 1 1/2oz. Pencil weight , 10/2 Power pro
or 18lbs Lead core.
Bow & Middle Rod Reccomendation, if weights are 2-8 oz. What do we expect the sinker weight to benormal Pools 5,6,7,8,9 to do In Sept/Oct
Would I use a Baitcast, Heavy or MH Rod for the Bow ?And A MH Rod that would Handle 2-5 oz Weight?

I have untill Wed's to change my rods from My Planer board Rods!

| OK It was a great Friday & Saturday. I liked the Standing Ovation the WAT Team ~ 7:15 PM. I did finally get my boat out properly. Boat Control is only learned with time in, out and on the water. I need to find a better 2nd & 3rd mate.
The three way worked ok . I used 3 oz & 4 oz, I never got the 45 % , I think that I should have gone to 5 & 6 oz sinkers. The 10/2 Power pro worked great. , The Stick Baits caught three 14-18" Friday & Saturday Trolling the Side Channel Upstream ~ 1-1.5 mpg. I used Boron Rods from Browning.They worked well. I should have switched to shad raps?
I switched to anchoring in front of Wing Dam's and Casted #5,#7 & #9 Shad Raps, My anchoring only held 10% of the time so I will look for help in getting better anchoring techniques:( .
Tight Lines all and will plan another Trip, What a great Town and the food at Sullivans & Watsons was outstanding. | |

Location: Chicago IL. | I use a digger anchor. If it dont hold , I dont fish there because the current is too strong. I have had the same one for 5 years and will buy another one if I lose it. Also, when you anchor trim up your motors to reduce drag. Tremplo is the prettiest spot on our trail.

| You will definitely need a good water spike/navy style digger anchor with flat blades for anchoring a big boat on the river. With the flow this weekend on pool 7, a 4 to 5 oz sinker shoud have been just about right for pulling cranks on three ways in the channel.
You're not the first one to have trouble at that landing, the barges push the sand up in the ramp area which makes it real tough to load sometimes.
