Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | October 3rd., "windy but fun!""
This mornings trip started out with air temps. running at around 45'and the south, southwest winds had continued all through the night and were putting a good chop on the waters at our beginning set-up. Clients, Al, Don, Peter and son, Tyler Ogorek of Milwaukee, Wisconsin had a special trip on the waters today. A great guys morning, Tyler 8 years old caught and reeled in his first 2 Walleye ever with the biggest being 23 inches. We were working water depths of 35 feet marking a good number of suspended fish using Walleye Choice crawler harness's, varied colors with hammered copper doing well, chartruese beads. We didn't even get one rod set and the board was pulling back with a nice fish! Thinking this was going to be a fast, furious morning although having several other possible strikes caught another nice Walleye again a suspended fish.
Tyler had a great time and the "older-guys" myself included enjoyed the smiles and happiness from this young angler. That's what its all about, having fun!
Winds have picked up pretty good now while writing this report and looking out the front window onto the bay with colder weather forecast to come in tonight.
Water surface temps. running at 60'
Big smiles, I had a great time fishing with you Tyler;
