Location: Green Bay, WI | Had a great day Sunday!! It was the first time I got a chance to fish with another WFer, Eye Lunker and we had some great fishing action south of Sturgeon Bay. It was such a mixed bag that we didn't know what we had when the board went back, of course we had our share of sheepshead, pike, catfish, walleye(19", 21" and a beautiful fat 28.75") with the real surprise of the day a 30", 10lb Coho on a crawler harness with green Gulp! I have a picture of the Coho that I will post after I download it off the camera.
Water temp started out at 52 and hit 58 by the end of the day. All fish came on crawler harnesses and everything liked real crawlers, except the Coho. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I hope this works. This is my first attempt at posting a picture. I am hoping someone can resolve the question of is this a coho or a chinook?

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Coho - white gums, black mouth. Few if any spots on tail. A 10 pound coho is a rather large one. I would expect one that big to be mature and within a few weeks of buying the farm.
Chinook - black mouth, black gums, spots on tail.

Location: Green Bay, WI | Brad,
I do remember the black mouth, but I can't remember if there was any white in the mouth. It did have eggs in it and a bunch of yoy alewife.
When I use this website http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/greatlakesfish/becker.html
It just looks more like the picture of the coho than the chinook, but based on the average weight it has for a coho, it would be a large coho, just like you said.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Looks like a small king in the photo, but it's hard to tell because of the shadow over the fish's tail. Looks like a good eater for sure!!! |

| Looks like a small king to mee. A king has a forked tail with spots while a coho's tale is more flat and no spots. |

Location: Appleton wi | There was plenty of black in the mouth .It was probally 1.5 to 2 yr chinook. As the chinook gets older the mouth inside will blacken some more.I had to look at my chart at home and the only obvisous difference is black in the mouth.Looks tasty to me! |
