| Please no personal attacks on this message board. We had to permanently delete a user's a month ago for abusing that very policy, so let's not have another. This message board is about walleye fishing.
Thanks,
WalleyeFIRST |

| I did not have a chance to see what transpired tonight on here because I was at work, but I can sure guess what happened by which thread has been deleted. I think it is very sad statement of the type of mentality some people in this world have. I can also guess that most of the trouble was from some "guest" users. Why don't you include the email addy of every guest user with their posts. That way when people come on here to cause trouble, they can not hide from the rest of us, and we can reply to them directly. It will cut a lot of this type of immature child-ish behavior out, and if it risks loosing traffic on the site, so be it. Those aren't the type of people, or the types of behavior, you want on this board anyway.
Of course, I could understand you not doing that if you wanted to protect some certain individuals who we all could identify.
Also, why is this now deleted thread not in the "bone yard" section of the forum with the rest of the so called deleted threads? I would really like to know who said what, and if anything was directed towards me since I was willing to say congrats to Rick for his good showing at the MWC.

I do not fault anybody for deleting any posts if they get personal and ugly. Having to babysit a thread on a board where grown men are supposed to be interacting is indeed BS. Nor was it my intention in posting it, to have it fallow that course. I do find it ironic however, that when you knock the wrong people you invite slams and when you praise the wrong people (in certain eyes) it invites the same results.
I've heard many good and bad things about lot's of people here on this board and others. I've also drawn some conclusions given their attitudes and thought processes when asking or answering different threads. I would never retreat from my own beliefs and feelings on any issues I feel strongly about, but would probably consider these innitial personal impressions when around these people, if we ever met personally. But I would also try to put aside what I've heard and the conclusions I've drawn, and reserve my final judgment of this person given how we (ourselves) interact and get along in person, as my final determination of their chartacter. Isn't this the true test of a decent human being?
Now, this is the spot where some mental giant (guest users) chimes in, "Who appointed you character police" ?

Location: Rhinelander | JDL and Express,
First, the recycle bin forum is for threads that are out of context or otherwise are not what we look for on the general discussion board, not threads that go completely south. As far as forcing registration, no, we will not do that, either. I can assure you WalleyeFIRST isn't 'protecting' anyone. It's pretty simple, we strongly discourage personal attacks, fights, and bashing or uncalled for negative commentary. Strong opinions are great, friendships and alliances are, too. After all, the traffic here makes this a 'city' and one may expect to have all descriptions of folks browsing through the forums at any given time. One hopes the exchange of Walleye information is the goal for everyone with a sideline discussion about unrelated things now and again, but focus on walleye fishing.
Express; exactly. Well said.
Thanks guys. You're opinions, experience, and knowledge is welcome here and valued, too.

I'm truly amazed that there is very little need for the moderators to "police" this site. Compare it to other sites and you'll see that we have allot to be proud of. The fact that having a thread pulled is such a big thing should tell you something about the overall character of people visiting this site.
I'm proud to be associated with the "city" ( I like that analogy Steve ) |

Location: Kaukauna WI | I feel it is a shame that people blast others like they do for it is not fair. I will tell you from experience I have been on the other end of the blast from people that I can almost guarantee don’t know the man I really am. I feel that ones that do it don’t care and possible don’t have high standard for themselves. I always wonder if ones that make the statements we read truly realize people are individuals and appreciate sportsmanship and the effort it takes to achieve what some think is just given to them. Fishing to me is first fun then and only then do I look at as competition.
I wish to thank guys here at Walleye First for keeping this site way it is for I enjoy and respect my fellow anglers that are on it and enjoy reading post like Color Hooks and their presentations, New Nitro Shiners or Winning Streaks and varies ways to use multi harness presentations.
This is what this board is here for and as I said before I feel it is shame when people come in to make trouble for they feel it is their right just to do so and refuse to be and adult and be recognized with their own real name or nickname.

Location: Neenah Wi | Dan if they don't have character than we don't need them here.I don't know about others here but I do occasionaly look at the profiles to see where and who I'm reading about.I wish I would have seen the later posts before they were deleted though.I just don't know why some just feel the need to attack others on a board like this. Not man or woman enough to do it face to face I guess.I look and come to this board for good info and try to improve on my skills(the few I have that is):)Thanks for the info and maybe I to can help someone.Remember you will receive your gifts back and then some. Most here don't expect to get your "secret spot"just some general info to help them along this puzzle we call fishing. And I need lots of help finding some lost pieces:)have a great day lifes to short not to. |

| Some people are controversial, usually because of their actions. Some people find it necessary to "Stir the Pot" in order to get much needed attention. Some people prefer to mealy mouth people behind their backs instead of confronting a person man to man. If these people get slammed in a public forum, so be it. |

Location: Neenah Wi | Now now Rob 2 wrongs don't make it right. If someone bad mouths you behind your back and you retaliate in the same fashion you are no better. As far as that goes you being the recipient you should be the better man and leave the back stabbing to others. The people that really know you will know when the truth is being told.Telling facts are a whole different thing, some cannot handle the facts and decide that it is back stabbing for speaking the truth. The truth will always come out sooner or later.;) |

Location: Rhinelander | I think Rob was simply posting a 'laundry list' of the many aspects of negative posts, not looking to argue or take a shot at anyone. Three examples that I see. The end result of any of those examples won' t be a bash here, however! |

| Yeah, some places on the net thrive on negative stuff. Too bad. Glad you guys are about walleye news and info, not bitching and bull. |
