Location: Green Bay, WI | Jack and I were supposed to do lunch today, but he had to get back home by 4pm to get to the restaurant. I couldn't give him a hard time; the last second field goal was enough for me! Scoreboard!!!!

| Had a great time with Jack on Saturday. RangerPat gave him a ride to the launch Saturday morning. They were waiting as I pulled in at 7:15. We proceeded to BS abit, pay the entry into the MF Fox River Muskie Hooters Challenge, talked with Jim Davenport of Patriot Boats, then launched the Lund EsoxAngler. We were dragging baits by 7:45. Jack and I talked all day long, and I told him we were going to win the outing, but that I thought it would take 200" to win it! We eneded up catching 5 muskies on the day, the final 34'er at 3:00 PM sealing the win! Jack did a great job, and caught a 26, and a 42. I ended up with a 29, a 43, and the 34.
Then it was off to Hooters for the gathering, beers, and wings. After being crowned Kings of the River, Jack and I headed to Pat's house, where Christy had Kabob's, tater's, Zucchini and Carrots prepared for dinner. I was stuffed, and after some more BS'ing, I headed off to home, and left Jack with these words. "You're going to see the Vikings lose in the best stadium to watch it happen!" hehehe
Thanks Jack for a fun day. You're welcome in my boat any time. And thanks to Pat and Christy. Pat, make sure Groony gets that bait!

You'll need to correct your profile to read Appleton, not Brewtown.

| Well, my totally awesome adventure began right on time and pretty much the way it had been planned from the start. My good friend Dave from here in the Twin Cities had to back out for reasons out of his control, but perfectly understandable. Hopefully he can make the trip with me next year.
I got to Green Bay with a small side trip because I missed my exit off I94. I didn’t care though. Heck, I was on a short vacation, and as a result, I got the chance to see some damn beautiful country. I ended up getting on 29 via a back road trip that took me through Fall Creek, Augusta, and up Hyw. 27 to Cadott. Man oh man, is that some pretty country. Especially around the Eau Claire River.
I swear, if my wife ever wins that lottery she is always spending my money on, I think I’m going to move to Wisconsin. I’ll probably be the only Viking fan living in Wisconsin, but I don’t care, it’s that nice.
So, I got to Ranger Pat’s place in time to help him run some errands, and get a fishing license before going out for dinner. Of course, he had to tell everyone we talked to I was a Viking fan and if they had a gun they could shoot me cause he didn’t care!!
Friends, what would I do without them?
After buying Pat and Christy and their son dinner, we pretty much called it a day since I had to be at the landing for a day of musky fishing with Shep at 7:00 the next morning.
It was the next day at the landing that I learned definitely that not only was I fishing with the man we all know as Shep, but that I was fishing a tournament with him! (Not to mention, he was supposed to have the river so dialed in, that anything short of winning it would not be acceptable!!) I also had the chance to meet Jim Davenport. He’s a real nice guy.
Long story short, we won with 5 fish, and we had a great time visiting and fishing the Fox River. He is a great guy, and if ever any of you have a chance to share some time with the man, it will be time well spent with a high quality person. Thanks Friend!!
Afterwards, it was necessary for us to go to the local Hooters to collect our winnings for being the team of the day on the Fox, as well as to do some scouting to determine if Jerry should have his seminar at the same locale.
Both Shep and I are happy to announce to all those of you concerned, that Hooters serves their beer properly chilled to a correct drinking temperature, and the wings, as well as all the other accoutrements are everything you would expect of such a fine establishment. We both agree that Hooters would be an excellent choice of locations for the seminar both Jerry and Pat are offering for our edification!!
As for Sunday, well, it was everything and more than I had hoped for. To describe everything I saw and experienced would take up way to much memory for the moderators to leave unedited, so I will just say, I can’t wait to come back for next years game. Everyone was nice and I had a great time.
As for the game itself, well, I couldn’t have picked a better game to watch for my first time at Lambeau. I knew early in the 4th quarter that the team that had the ball last was going to win. Too bad there was some controversy over the call on that fumble at the end. I don’t think, but maybe, it was a home field advantage call by the ref, but there are some folks who would probably say just that.
All I know is, you Packer fans had better celebrate your Christmas early, because Randy Moss was at the game, and I guess wasn’t too amused by that stunt the band did with the tuba’s in the 4th quarter. He does plan on being “The Grinch” come Christmas Eve”!!
Gee, maybe I’ll go to that game also!!
Only it won’t be as nice an adventure as coming to Green Bay was.

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Jack,
Glad to see your first trip to the holy land was positive....As I said in an earlier thread, I was unable to be there due to my mother's illness, though she is recovering nicely now......Interestingly, when you "got lost" as you were driving into Augusta and heading north on 27, you were about 7 miles from my 80 acres of heaven, i.e. deer/turkey camp......Hope we can get together next year at Lambeau or hopefully on the "pond" earlier......Also looks like you and Shep did very well with the toothy critters.....Make sure to count all your fingers.....See you soon in MPLS...........

| Tom,
I was sorry you couldn't make it. I hope your mom continues a speedy recovery.
It was fun to say the least.
Are you coming to the Dome on X-Mas Eve? Maybe we can hook up if you do.

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Family obligations will likely keep me from the dome, not Moss, but if I can get a ticket, I may do it.........After last week, all of a sudden the family holiday thing takes on new importance, especially now with dad gone....

Sounds like you had a trip full of memories. The pictures look awesome. Congrats
I agree that Shep is "The Man" and is wired on those river muskies.

| Jack,
As I told you weeks ago, Bush would win and the Vikes would take a dive. Some how I knew Vike fans would have an excuse about a call or Moss not playing. Glad you did not whine too much about that stuff and took the defeat like a man. Go Pack, Go Lions!! Good Luck with the rest of the season.
