Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | I'm sure that many of you were expecting a buck picture BUT this is a walleye I caught the opening day of deer season from the Fox River In De Pere. It's the biggest walleye that I have ever caught weighing in at 12.52 pounds on a certified scale. It beat my last “personal best” by a quarter of a pound.
This fish and 38 other fish that we caught that day would not have been possible without the camaraderie and help displayed here on WalleyeFIRST. A very special thank you goes out to FlyMan. The day before I left, I put a thread out asking if anyone had any last minute suggestions on the bite at De Pere. Flyman was very helpful and his suggestions were “dead on” as evidenced by this fish and our total count for the day.
The fish was caught in 3.5 feet of water while casting crankbaits. It was caught at approximately 10:30 am on a drizzly and overcast day. Water temps were right around 42 degrees. It looks like things are picking up on the Fox River and will only continue to improve as the water temps drop.
Thank You WalleyeFIRST and especially Flyman.

Location: YouTube.com/LyubakaVideo Instagram @LyubakaVideo | What a beauty! Great job! I am green with envy my dream fish and you got it - bet it was a hell of a fight. Just about that time I landed my personal best Open Water Northern Pike. Fish on!!! And, BTW Dennis, time to change your avatar picture, maybe - a fish like that deserves to present you rather then a dandy Smallie. Best of luck!

| Boy Dennis that is great. It sure was nice of Flyman to help you out. Why don't you let the rest of us know your program so we can all enjoy the resource up there. Thats what the board is about, everyone helping each other out. Your turn! |

I thought I was returning the favor! That was the reason for posting. If you read the original post by FlyMan and see his suggestions and then read my post with the explanation of how the fish was caught you should be able to figure out the how's and where's. I did exactly what flyman suggested and then told you what technique worked from the 3-4 that he mentioned. GEEZ, Would you like gps corrdinates too? Agian, thank you flyman, your suggestions worked and anyone reading your post will be rewarded. |

| Beauty:
You need only look as far as the following link: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4...
which is where flyman outlined a good strategy for catching the river fish. Read it and then what Dennis told you will put you right on the fish. Would you prefer someone to hook them for you too? If you are looking to tak out your aggression on someone, goto Lake-Link. Sunshine is well respected around here because he takes "his turn" sharing his insight. |

| Hey Dennis,
Nice Fish - looks like a REAL eater on Erie - that one might feed a family of 6 instead of 4! Great picture with all the fins up!
I borrow your "Ice is for mixed drinks" saying pretty regularly now...so you are free to use mine whenever appropriate: "Catch & Fillet on Lake Erie where a nice eater is one fish that feeds a family of four..."
DePere looks like a place I need to visit someday - and I'll even release them if that is the right thing to do per the local customs.....

| WTG Dennis! Wow, what a thrill that must have been. It's a thrill to catch a big fish trolling, but entirely another feeling to catch them casting!
I'm hoping to get my buck Wed-Friday, so I can get up there after the muskies this weekend. If you're on LBDN, good luck! |
