Hope we don't take a step backwards. But I totally understand the need for national defense.

Now, "That's a Tuffy".

Regulating, coordinating and taking responsibility for something like that, might be as damaging and fatal to civilian lives as the terrorist themselves. Hope the pilot isn't in the bathroom, and the plane on auto pilot when the satellites go down.

We've been at war now for how long? Now somebody is just getting around to thinking about GPS use and National Security? 9-11 was over three years ago, nothing was done then. We've been at war for about 2 years in at least 2 different countries and not even a hint of Selective Availability even.

National Security is one thing, using it as an excuse to shut off a satellite array is another....I'd like to know the real reason. I'm not buying National Security. If NS was the true case wouldn't the governement have done something PRIOR to us invading Iraq?? Making sure thier top Military forces were inept..not some band of renegades who've probally never even seen a GPS

I agree with something Tommy Thompson said when he resigned his cabinet post. I think the next terrorist attck is going to be on our food supplys!

I don't see where a GPS would be needed for that.

i believe our country is fortunate enough that if food supplies where atacked that it might be an iconviance but we would survive because of the diversity of our food supply it isnt all in one place it is spread accross the country they would suceed in an economical impact but that would be about it
