Location: Manawa Wiscowsin | OK! I'm jumping the gun a little but I'm ready for spring to arrive NOW! Enough of this white, lumpy rain! Where was it when I wanted it for tracking? Back to the subject this post was to be about. Has anyone started making plans for the website tournament? Last year we couldn't get the shelter at the park on Saturday and had to take Sunday because we waited to long to make the reservation. Just wondering if the date is to be the last Saturday in June as before. I work a lot of weekends, have plenty of vacation, but need to know dates far enough in advance to make sure I will be able to make it.
P.S. I went on a Muskie First outing last year. I thought walleye fishermen were nuts until I went with the musky guys. Now you all seem sane. Imagine that! |

| In the past, it was the last weekend in June. The first 4 years, it was held on Saturday. Last year, it was on Sunday, which by the way, was the first year we had decent weather. Besides, somebody had already rented the pavillion for that Saturday. I liked having it on Sunday, but would like to hear some feedback. Here's what I'm thinking.
Sunday, June 26th Rainbow Park Pavillion. Oshkosh, WI
The MWC is that same weekend, as it was last year. Is this a problem? Didn't seem to be last year. Let me know your thoughts, and I'll get things rolling, with Steve's official Okey-Dokey, of course. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Butch,
If I recall correctly last year's tournament hosted 20 teams. Entry fee was $50 per team. There was a very enjoyable picnic and awards ceremony after the weigh in. I would suggest that this year we could go around the pavillion and introduce ourselves so it is easier to attach names/userIDs and faces. |

| Schmitty and Jerry.
You can always come over after the MWC weigh in. I'll save a Sloppy Jo, and beer for you!
I'll see Steve this weekend, and finalize the details with him. Should we up the boats from 20? I think the next step is 40, but not sure.

It would be alot of work but i think they would love it. |

| I see no issue with having a couple of future WFer's in the boat with you. Not sure on the age thing, but 2 years ago, a young man got the big fish pot, although he was older than 4 and 6, I think 12? It might be an awful long day for the youngsters. I'll defer to Steve W on this, as there may be an age limit for the permit?

| Shep, I have done the permit for this tournament and others in the past. I just sent in two app's for this year and there is no age limit. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Given that this is a friendly get together, I think the main issue is the number of lines a boat may have out at a time. The other competitor's will be using 6 lines, as that is the maximum they can use. Butch, if his boat has 4 in it, could use 12. As long as he agrees to use no more than 6 at a time, I see no problem with his family fishing together. Wish I could be there with my family for this one!!! |

| Thanks Lumpy. And I agree with Ralph. If he could fish with more than 6 lines with the kids in the boat, more power to him! hehehe I know I couldn't, and my kids are 13 and 9 now! I would just make sure the kids don't get too bored. It's a long day for them. Perhaps plan on coming back to the pavillion for a break or two. I don't see an issue with this. |

Location: upper michigan | lol 12 lines and 2 kids thats a good one. guys all of you will have a 2 line advantage on me because i would not even atempt 6 lines with me and the 2 kids. I want to have fun not a stroke. lol |

| My Dad and Grandpa started taking me out on Bago when I was three. On my first trip out I out fished them both while drifting with Mille Lacs spinners and crawlers. I think having a four and and six year old along is an unfair advantage considering the LUCK factor. They will probably take both the big fish and total weight prises even if daddy manages to get only one line out at a time. Looks like I'll need to bring my grand kids along if I want a chance to finish first!
Bring them along. One suggestion; have something along in the boat, a Gameboy or something similar in case they get bored. You could also stop for a little while and still fish for panfish (sheepshead) to break the monotony if the trolling bite is slow. Good luck and I hope they have a blast. |
