Location: Westland, Mich. | after my trip there last winter i posted a few pics here. a few of you said that you wouldn't mind seeing it for yourself. the dates this year are feb. 9-13. the theme this year is "A Frozen Commotion from the Depths of the Ocean". this is one of the best snow sculpting events anywhere. the displays are awesome in both artistry and size. book your room now if you need one. this one was built by my sons fraternity "tke" it's a 90% size replica of a 50's mcdonalds.

the tke's have a huge crew working on their sculpture so i wouldn't be suprised if one of them was your nephew. this was one of the top award winning sculptures last year and only one of dozens that were impressive. if you want to see some of the work in progress go up the day before when the finishing touches are being applied to the big displays and the all nighter compitition starts for the displays that are built in 24 hours. you can easily spend a day or two taking it all in as it's spread all over the campus and even a big one at a house in hancock.
