| I was just wondering if anyone knows about the fishing line Power Pro? I am thinking of switching my jigging rods over from mono to fireline and I was advised to go with the power pro. I was going to use like 6-2 fireline for jigging the wolf this spring to help the feel and sensativity. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!! |

Location: upper michigan | i switched to power pro last year it does offer great feal but i had trouble make the switch i had a real hard time hooking the fish dont know if i was pulling to hard or to fast or what but i only hooked about 8 fish all year jigging way down from what i useually do and i had alot of bites last year. |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | I absolutely love PowerPro. For the Wolf I use 10-2. Ten pound test with a two pound diameter. You can use smaller jigs than you previously used and still get added strength. I'm to the point that I will use nothing but PowerPro for all jigging and rigging situations while tournament fishing and guiding.
Butch, I'm surprised to hear your comments. Is it possible that you were feeling many more hits than ever before? Maybe a lot more short hitters? My only other guess is that you're setting the hook too hard or using too stiff of a rod. Most people report their catch ratio going up not down. |

Location: Byron, IL | Superlines take a bit of getting used to...they are not as forgiving as mono...
Try to visualize what your jig is doing when you jig it...the action is a lot more spastic do to the zero strech and less water resistance,,,
It sounds stupid, but every so often I will drop a jig with superline (I use Fireline) in a fishtank to see how it moves when I move...

Location: upper michigan | Denis you exactly right i was setting to hard and i bought new rods last year that where stiffer than my old rods and with all these new factors i didnt adjust and it cost me alot of fish hind site is 20 20 but now i am kinda scared to use it because it cost me money but i will keep it on one rod and keep trying it prefishing and try to gain confidence in it. I know i was on a winning pattern at spring valley last year and missed atleast 20 fish on day one. |

Location: Fergus Falls, MN | Power Pro is just fine. Personally, I prefer Fireline in those poundages. From 2 to 15 pounds, I like Fireline. From 20 and up, Power Pro.
Switching to superlines and giving mono the axe was the first major step in improving my "feel". |

Location: Rockford MN | I also like the Fireline in the the 4-8lb tests for jigging but l love the Power Pro in the 10 & 15ld for casting. On the Miss. casting wing dams I perfer the Power Pro its seem to be tougher than the Fireline, and those Zebras are tough on line! I really like the fact that Fireline has a new pink color out, this is going to great for jigging even better to see than the yellow. I have never trolled the Power Pro. I have trolled the Fireline in 14lb and it seemed fine. |
