Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | New KABOOM Shiners Work!!!
Well...... I had every intention of meeting up with many of you at the Walleye Wisdom Event this past weekend but I got THE call Wednesday night and ended up fishing the mighty Mississippi instead. My buddy's logic went like this. Why go listen to some guys talk about fishin' when we could be fishin' ourselves? Great logic PLUS I was just dying to try out the new KABOOM shiners.
After using the new shallow shiners for the first time, I can report that they work awesome for 3-ways on the river. I tested the new lures against 2 other great fishermen while they used traditional proven lures on this stretch of the river. Final fish totals showed that I caught more fish than my 2 friends combined.
I caught fish on two colors supplied to me by Dave Storm. I used the 05-Metallic Purple with squiggles and the custom “glow” Green with squiggles. I tied these lures up to a 3 foot lead and I was using a 10” dropper attached to a 1 ½ ounce weight.
Needless to say, I just can’t wait to try these again and to play with more of the colors. I was very fortunate to receive some different “purples” just prior to this fishing adventure and I’m anxious to get a chance to play with the other colors.
Thanks Dave! It really is a GREAT product. There is no doubt in my mind that these lures will help me this spring as I patrol waters around Wisconsin.
My tournament partner, Someday, is supposed to email me some of the pictures that we took on this trip. I’ll post a couple here if I get them in soon.
Final tally for a day and a half of fishing was 40 fish. We caught all of these fish by using 3 ways or verticle jigging ring worms.

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Hey Shep,
I would never avoid ya' buddy. But ya' know someone has to go out and do the research and testing I'm sure that you can imagine how hard my arm had to be twisted. We were pulling the 3 ways up river. Best speed seemed to be about .8mph. We would slip ringworms down river. We had some success quartering the 3 ways in an area also.
Lenny, The secret is out buddy. But no one knows about those secret colors in that box of yours.......oops

Location: Chicago IL. | HAHA Len. Your funny. I got a top secret bait already for genoa. Hutch made it for me and NOBODY has it. We tried it out in jan when we were there and I spanked Hutch and Mark with it. I made Hutch promise that nobody gets it. One hint is that it not any of the 2 colors that sunshine listed. HEHEHE |

Location: princeton Il. | Yeah John spanked us pretty good that day but since he is my partner for the WAT hopefully those crazy eyes will like them next week also. Going to try them for the MWC the following week. Hope the Illinois sauger like them as much. If so, get the paint out Hutch and put the color scheme under lock and key. |

Location: Chicago IL. | Still not the colors Lenny. I know for a fact that works on the IL river. Fishing with Mike Potanic last Oct for the IWT we had 3 fish for 8.56 in the first 15 minutes, than a nuckelhead scattered our fish. Then I lost the only prototype I had. Now I`m stocked up and I will try them out this weekend. Water should be right this weekend with it dropping like it is. Bad part is water temp in dropping also. |

I will be at the Milwaukee Sport Show working the Main Marine and Ski booth the entire ten days. I'd be more than happy to bring along samples of the KABOOM family of lures for anyone who would like to see them.
Hopefully Dave Storm will see this post and can share with you his knowledge of any local vendors who will be selling them at the show. Otherwise, I would suggest stopping at the new Sportsman's Warehouse or at Dick Smith's. They both carry KABOOM Baits. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Depending on your location, Tews Too in Oshkosh, Gander Mountain in Sheboygan, and the Sportsman in Appleton carry Daves KABOOM baits too.
I'm not surprised to see Sunshine's eval. on these lures. Every product Dave and his family has put out that I've tried has been a winner. Why would that change now? I plan to try them at DePere soon. Getting in a little handlining practice, ya know.....;) |

PM me if you are interested, I'll have to warn you though, I'm a novice when it comes to handlining. |

Location: Combined Locks, WI | As Geo mentioned Dave's Ka-Boom will have a booth at the Sheboygan Gander Mountain this weekend. Myself along with fellow Pro Staffer Todd Mueller will be on hand to answer questions and talk fishing. Stop and check out the exclusive Gander Mountain glow colors along with the New Goby Pattern. The Glows won't hang around long as the Appleton Gander was close to selling out in less than a day. All deep Ka-Booms sold out by 2pm and we only had about 15 of the shallow Ka-Booms left.
See you all in Sheboygan on Saturday and Sunday |

| Hey "Holy Cow",
Having a long winter, are we?
Why slam the Pro's?
I went back and reread the info that was posted and all I saw was most people replying to questions asked and telling people of upcoming shows where we can get more info. Looked ok to me.
GEEZ............ I can remember this past summer when some of us were complaining that the tournament guys were not giving up any info on this site. Now they are telling us about new lures. more shows, secret colrs and lures............and you want to chase them away.
So what if they plug a sponsor now and then..............I don't think they would be using stuff they do not like.
Guys, don't let one bad apple spoil the lot.
I like reading the threads like this and I amuze myself trying to decipher the little digs between Pro's. Keep it up please. And please keep reporting successes. We can all learn a little. We are all inteligent to enough to seperate the info commercial from the rest. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Thanks for the reply, holy chocolate milk.
To relate a story: When I first met a gentleman named Ron Smart, who is an associate of Dave Storm's, he related a story to me involving a past member of a pro staff. This particular pro staffer had won a major bass event and, everyone assumed, when he got up on stage, he would relate tales of catching big fish with Storm lures. To everyone's surprise, he told all of trying to catch fish at that particular event with the Storm products but found another company's product to be more effective for that particular water. Ron went on to explain how important it was to him and to Dave to maintain the integrity of their product and to not embellish it with false statements. I do believe this same message has been passed down to all of our pro staff members and that they follow it to the letter.
Last spring, when I fished the first PWT at Wineconne, I went through a similar experience (except for the winning part!!) I had a good bite going in practice with Glass Shad Raps. I did catch some fish on the Deep KABOOM, but the Shad Raps, based on the water temp., forage available, and shallow conditions were the bait of choice. And I told all here about it. I got an email the next day from Dave congratualting me on a decent finish and thanking me for my honesty.
I choose to post these examples to show what types of individuals we are out there working for. I can also see how some would question the experiences of the pro staff. If anyone feels we are being less than honest about our usage of ANY product, I for one will be more than available to answer any questions. Feel free to ask but please do so in a manner that doesn't make it look like an attack on one's integrity. Thanks.

| Speaking of Dave's lures - there will be a special at the Green Bay sports show this weekend. Buy 4 Kabooms at any of the retailers selling them and you can come see me at the Midstate Marine booth to pick up a free Kaboom. I'll be wearing a Yar Craft shirt
