Location: upper michigan | they are ugly and are considered trash buy many but if you boil them and serve them with butter they are excelent table fare. i will get a link on how to clean and prepare

| AKA Freshwater Ling too, I think?
Anyway, if they are even close to being as tasty as Ling cod, a saltwater eel-like fish common to the Pacific Northwest, you are in for a treat. I packed on plenty of poundage while spending time in the Pac-West eating Ling cod and chips.

Location: Otterlake MI | hey bagowalleyeguy that isn't a burbot(lawyer) it's a bowfin(dogfish) and burbot are also knowing as fresh water cod they make great table fair i eat a lot of them out of saginaw bay wwe go up to the fish market in bay port and buy them $1 a pound icook them likee i do walleye dipped in batter and deep fried a burbot has skin like a cat fish |

| Here's a pic of an eelpout. We used to catch them alot lake trout fishing in Canada. We see them on the Mississippi River down here every few winters. When they show up there's usually alot of them.

Location: Freedom, WI | Sorry about that, I caught that on a tip up Northern fishing this weekend and some guy told me it was a lawyer, I thought lawyers were slimier and different looking, but he said it was a Lawyer. Oh well, it was a big surprise at the end of my line after pulling up a 31" Northern in the same hole 15 minutes prior to that! |
