| Ok guys...I'm in love with a new gadget. This iWAY 500c from Lowrance is the neatest thing I've seen in a long time. If you travel to unfamiliar places, you've got get one these things.

I just got it installed in my truck last week, and all I can say is WOW! WOW! WOW! I will NEVER be lost again. I will NEVER have to wonder where is the next gas station or motel. I can find ANY address anywhere or other point of interest like a hospital, airport, or whatever.
Need to find a motel in Fond du Lac, WI? The iWAY gives you a complete list of motels in Fond du Lac with their contact info. Select one and it will plan a travel route for you, display it on the screen with constant updates for location, and TELL you as you're driving (it talks to you) when and where to turn with directions like "Turn hard left 500 feet on 38th street" or "Destination on right 300' feet." Amazing! You can program it to avoid or take toll roads, favor Interstates, etc. If you miss a turn for some reason and it will automatically recalculate a new route.
Need fuel? The iWay will give you a complete list of the closest stations and how far they are from your current location.
Hungry? The iWAY has a complete list of restaurants that you can search for by name or nearest location. Type in "McDonald's" and it will show you a list of every McD's in the area. Click on it and the iWAY will give you the directions to drive right to it. When my buddy Johnnie Candle needs his ice cream fix, I can find a Dairy Queen because the iWAY has a submenu in "Find Restaurants" that allows you to search for "Ice Cream"- the deal is I drive...he buys! Find "Chinese", "Mexican", "Italian", "Steak House", etc. etc. etc.
The iWAY is a fully functioning GPS system. You can store up to a 1000 waypoints and there is a USB port to transfer data to and from your PC. I will never get lost trying to find a duck slough or an ice fishing spot in the dark again.
It's also an MP3 player that you can hook up to your audio system and it will store up to 5000 songs.
This thing is super easy to use. The menus are simple to understand and navigate, and the touch-screen color display is excellent. It comes with three different RAM mount options so it can be mounted permanently or moved between vehicles easily.
Like the kids say these days...This thing is the BOMB! Jim Carroll NPAA #333

Jim, do you have to pay for any service with this? I guess I am thinking like Onstar or Satellite Radio...

| Nope...It's all stored in the machine. Updates will be available online periodically from Lowrance. If you travel, or the wife can't find her way around town, this is the answer. | |
