WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO TIE ON A JIG? I'VE SEEN A BARREL SWIVEL WITH A SHORT DROPPER SO THE JIG DOESN'T SPIN, AND JUST THE TIE DIRECT METHOD. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS STUPID, BUT JUST TRYING TO IMPROVE MY JIGGING ON THE WOLF. ALSO WONDERING WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE MOST PRODUCTIVE METHOD OF HOOKING A MINNOW, THROUGH LIPS/ HEAD/ CENTER OF BODY/TAIL? THANKS ALL.

Line (to me) depends a lot on rod choice. I mean a lightning rod is a good entry price jig stick but a no stretch line might be a good idea. I still like a low stretch / low diameter mono and change it a lot. I've hurt my wrist on fireline and big fish like a sturgeon, carp, catfish or a snag. A friend really needs help with seeing the line so he uses the high vis fireline with a leader of Vanish and a barrel swivel. That's what creates confidence for him. I like wide gap hooks and have some made specially for me and I also use the Lindy Max gap jigs or an Oddball jig because you can insert the hook through the mouth and BEHIND his brain. Will live a long time, "swims" very naturally and the "gap" helps with hook sets.
