| Hello. I am thinking of going to Mobridge or Sault St Marie as an amateur. I am mainly a jigger and wanted some ideas to which location would be more of that kind of fishing. Is anyone from the Chicago area also going to these locations..hello Mike Gofron? Carpool maybe? Are there any pros that want a partner to do prefishing with? Thanks

| The soo will have a variety of tactics to choose from. I fished there before, and I would bet everything you can imagine will come into play.

Location: Devils Lake, ND | Mobridge will most likely be a trolling bite or live bait rigging. I doubt very much if there will be much jig fishing there.
The Soo will be very interesting. I finished thrid there last time around and did it with BB and spinners. Harsh won doing the same and some live bait riging. Daryll Christenson finished fourth Jig Fishinf. Anything could happen there.
Either way, both tournaments will be good ones. There is no way you could fish any PWT event and not be a better angler. I have been fishing as a pro for twelve years now and I learn something at each event.
Come on out and enjoy. |

Location: DeKalb, Illinois | I think your best chance for a jig bite is the soo. I live in Dekalb and I am fishing all six PWT's. You are welcome to tag along and pre fish with me at any location. I usually spend about a week prior to the event practicing. As for a carpool I may have a few guys I know fishing these events as co's. Email me at [email protected] for questions, etc. from what i understand there are still a few openings at the soo as well as Oahe. |
