Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Had some trouble today on the ice, but first the report.
Was back in the same place this morning that I caught the nice perch in Saturday. The perch were still there all right, but a lot less interested in my offerings. A school of 15 or so would come in, all nice fish, and only one out of the school would come over and nudge one of my offerings. And then the school would disappear. I managed to fool only 6 slabs by 11:00am, by hooking a shiner through the lips with an "ant" bluegill jig. Even I had trouble seeing a jig that small in the minnows lip.
I was visited by a young guy who told me he had went 8 for 10 on walleyes farther out than me on Saturday in 13FOW. So with nothing to loose, I packed up the farm and moved out by him for the afternoon bite. I wasn't there for 30 minutes when an old friend showed up. About an 11 pound Laker. He came in quick and slurped in my Do-Jigger. I finally had a trout on with a good sized spoon hook. He fought great, and I held him by the lower jaw in the hole and unhooked the treble and let him slide back in. From then till 5:00pm was dead. But from 5:00 to 7:00 I seen 24 different walleyes in the hole. Unfortunately, they all acted like the perch had in the morning. Pressing their faces against my offerings and then leaving.
Now, I've been fishing the west shore near Pinconing Bar these last two trips. This was my buds spot, so I promised not to give to many clues. The shore ice on that side of the bay is deteriorating quick. In fact I had to travel through about 40 yards of open water and then jump up on the ice and head out this morning. Well, tonight after observing the crack was open 3 feet and barely making it across on the bridge that somebody built, I seen that the open water near shore had doubled. To make matters worse, the ice started breaking under me as I went and made it tougher. Then this "Dofus" comes out to the end of the road "just to look and see" with his brights on, and now I can't see where I'm going at all with his lights in my eyes. So I end up straddling this big rock and hang up my 4 wheeler on it. So now I got to get off the quad in the muck and water up to my knees and it wasn't pretty. So tomorrow, I put the ice fishing stuff to bed for the season. It was a good ride this year.

Thanks Shep.
I'm already working out rigging ideas and game plans for the Fish Flash attractors and the Wiggle Fin action discs. Going to try them individually, in tandom, as sliders, or in combination with my spoon harness rigs. If any of them work, count on my spilling the beans.
