I am looking for a new 18-19 foot glass tiller boat. My 17 footer is too small, and a 20-plus footer won't fit in the garage. What is out there on the market and what size engine can you hang on the back with the new Merten's system?

Ranger! Check out their website! I don't think they make a 20 footer in a tiller, but if you can afford the length look for a trailer with a swing away tongue, it might fit in your garage. Warrior use to make a 20 Footer, I think.

I want an 18-19 footer. A 20 is out of the question due to several factors including money and it is just bigger than I want, and it won't fit in my garage. I looked on the Ranger website, i see they have a 618T but it looks almost like a 17 footer and is only rated for a 90hp. The Warrior 1890 according to the webiste takes a 135hp. I couldn't find an 18 foot Yar Craft or Skeeter.

thanks

I've got the Ranger 618T. It's 18'4" long with a 90" beam. It's rated for a 90 horse. And even with the Merten's system, is still 90 horse. Maybe they'll do next year what they did this year with the 620 and uprate the hp. But, I honestly wouldn't want more than a 90 on it anyway. I don't have any great desire to go faster than the 38mph I can do now. I can still troll down to 1.8mph with the 90. A bigger motor would only make the boat another $3K more expensive, plus a needed second motor which is even more money, for another 10 to 15mph.

Didn't look very closely at the Warriors because I've never cared for their layouts or fit and finish.

Not sure there is much else out there in that category. I did look at the Skeeter 17'. Fit and finish was far and away less than the Ranger and I didn't care for the layout at all. Probably a good layout for Walleye only, but poor for Bass/Muskie.

Tuffy has the 1760 Osprey in a tiller. Nice layout, nice ride. Go over to the muskieFirst board, and put out a call to Cory Painter. He has the Esox Deep V version of this boat. I think he likes it a lot.

Looked at the YarCraft site and they only show 3 boat models, with one tiller in the 20 plus foot range.

Howdy!

Might I suggest to take another look at the Tuffy website? The Rampage Tiller is 18 feet on the head with a beam of 80". I believe the HP rating on the tiller is 75hp and the Console is 135.

Other than Ranger or Warrior, I don't think youll find a glass tiller 18 to 19 feet.

Skeeter, Tuffy and Yarcraft are all under 18 but over 17.
