Where exactly on the river are the no wake zones? We want to go out on Sunday but I called Winnebago Cty. Sheriff and Waupaca Cty. sheriff and neither could tell me anything. I know it is in Winnebago for sure but how far down does that go? We are going to New London unless we can make a wake in Fremont. Please help. The sheiff sure couldn't.

I was on the river this morning and we just obeyed the bouyes with the "no wake" on them and maintained the no wake speed when there were permanant dwellings on either side of the river. We took it easy past other anglers too. If we were breaking any laws it was due to lack of signs posted. There are a lot of out of town anglers that fish there and obviously there is a need to post the changes of these regulations somewhere other than the local news paper. I didn't see anything posted at the boat launch or anywhere else so we just followed the normal rules and regulations.

All waupaca county is no wake zone. All new london city is no wake zone. When i was out in new london yesterday i could not believe the poeple high speed cruising thru area's that they shouldnt be. Also when you come up on a bunch of boats jigging or anchored please slow down and dont cruise by at 30mph 12 ft from boats! Slow down!!!!!!!!Some poeple have absolutly no common sense or respect for anyone elses property.I was surprised i didnt see any wardens on saturday but if you get caught you wont like the fine. The excuse you didnt see any buoy's or signs will not get you out of it. The river is at flood stages and its the same rules as every year.

I called the Waupaca County Sheriff last week. The woman I talked to was very nice. She said the NO WAKE ZONE is in effect for all of Waupaca Couty - that would include New London down south of Fremont, near Ft. Fremont Marine. They were going to revisit that decision again this week.

There are no restrictions anywhere south of that. But it is still advisable to be courteous to other boaters.

Talked to the sheriif at Gills on Saturday. The rule is no wake within 500 feet of a permanent structure.
