| Looking for feedback on Amsoil two-stroke synthetic oil.
Have a friend who has been using it in his 200hp EFI and claims, more smooth idle, smooth take-off, less smoke.
I have a 96 175 EFI with about 100 hours on a new power head. Been using Merc. regular oil in it and am thinking of trying the Amsoil. I am a firm believer in synthetics in my vehicles, but have never tried it in any two stroke...outboard, chain saw, ice auger...etc. Oil is cheap, parts are expensive, I'm interested in the best protection for my motor.

Your friend is correct. All of your engines will run cooler because of less friction also..
Change out the gear oil to Amsoil and you will see a little better performance also.
The Saber 2-stroke oil for your other small engines is fantastic.

Location: Elgin, Illinois | I'm using Quaker State synthetic 2 stroke oil right now... When I run out this season I would like to switch... Do I need to practically run my oil tank dry or can I just start pouring the Amsoil into the oil tank? |

It is best to let your tank get as low as you can, without alarms going off.
