The Lowrance sponsored Pro Team Walleye Circuit will have two divisions, one open tournament, and a championship. The FoodSource Lures NO LIVE BAIT Challenge and the Troll Master/Drift Control Summer Slam will make up division one. The Minn-Kota/Mack's Lures Spring Tournament in Ortonville Minnesota on May 3rd,4th, 5th and the Navionics Challenge at Devil's Lake North Dakota will make up division two. The Lowrance open will take place at Boysen Reservoir in Wyoming on June 23rd, 24th, 25th . The top 40 teams per division and the top 20 placers will qualify for the Princecraft Championship on Lake Oahe, in Pierre South Dakota on September 8th, 9th, 10th, and fish for the grand prize of $50,000 dollars.
"We have been talking about holding the first ever Pro NO LIVE BAIT tournament for some time, and we decided to but the teams to the test this year at our first event," says Billy Brenton, tournament director. "Some teams have not entered on the fact that they can't use live bait, but people will be surprised by the number of fish weighed in this week. We have a field of very talented anglers, some are legends, some are locals, and some young guns. Teams to watch will be 2004 Team of the Year Matt Walsh & Mark Hagen, John Green & Joe Johnson winners of the $50,000 at Lake Sharpe last year (won using no live bait), and veterans and legends of fishing, Bob Propst Sr. & Mike McClelland, who have been giving seminars and writing stories on this system for many years. Steve Fahey & Terry Nelson, Mike Peluso & Dan Sedevie, Rick Walter & Bruce Brugger, and Gerrick McComsey & Max Sheets are some of the young guns that will be running from dam to dam looking for that big female. And let's not forget about the locals, Scott Handel & Lee Pulse who know all the hot spots and should be the team to beat.
